- Feels out of shape
- Recently started working out, bought a new wardrobe or a new car
- Loses height
- Strength and/or endurance decrease
- Constantly criticizes and blames spouse
- Shows less sexual interest in spouse
- Does not respond to spouse’s attempts to repair marriage
- Has an increased feeling of euphoria when talking to someone of the opposite sex
- Fantasizes about having a sexual affair
- Libido decreases
- Tells spouse that affair partner or potential affair partner is “just a friend”
- Tells spouse suddenly “I no longer love you” or “I love you but I’m not in love with you.”
- Has a new group of friends kept away from spouse; they are either younger or divorced
- Drinks more/goes out to bars, often with younger people
